One-Night Closure of Hwy 401 in Mississauga on October 29

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will be removing the Second Line West bridge that crosses Highway 401 near the Mavis Road Interchange in Mississauga during the overnight period between October 29-30.
 
This work is to accommodate the new widening of Highway 401 between McLaughlin Road and the Credit River.
 
To facilitate the removal of the Bridge, a full eastbound and westbound Highway 401 closure will be required for one night from Mavis Road to Mississauga Road / Erin Mills Parkway. This closure is currently scheduled for the night of Saturday, October 29, 2016.
 
A signed detour route will be in place to direct traffic from Highway 401 around the closure. Lane closures on Highway 401 will begin at 9:00pm, and the highway will be fully closed at 11:00pm. Lanes on Highway 401 will begin to be reopened on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 8:00 am, with all lanes scheduled to be open by 10:00 am.
 
Westbound traffic will be detoured off Highway 401 at Mavis Road, north to Derry Road, then south on Mississauga Road / Erin Mills Parkway back to Highway 401. Eastbound traffic will be detoured off Highway 401 at Mississauga Road / Erin Mills Parkway, be directed north to Derry Road, and then south on Mavis Road back to Highway 401.
