International Trucks will now offer an enhanced version of the Bendix Wingman Fusion collision mitigation system on LT, RH, MV, HV, and HX Series trucks – making it standard on the LT and RH.
Upgrades to the Fusion system include enhanced collision mitigation and stationary vehicle braking, multi-lane automatic emergency braking, highway departure braking, and enhance adaptive cruise control.
It can apply more braking power to the tractor and trailer, but also retains existing capabilities such as stationary object alerts, overspeed alerts and intervention, lane departure warnings, and prioritized alerts.
The LT and RH Series of trucks are also available with the optional Bendix BlindSpotter Side Object Detection System, which monitors an area 20 feet on either side of the radar sensor, looking up to 10 feet to the right of the vehicle. Updates to that help to better filter out objects like guardrails at highway speeds and infrastructure at speeds below 32 km/h.
Also available on those trucks are Bendix Wingman Fusion with Active Cruise Control Stop and Driver Go, and Lane Keep Assist.
International is the only OEM to offer ACB Stop and Driver Go, which remains active down to low vehicle speeds including a full spot. Once stopped, if a driver applies the throttle and reaches 11 km/h, the system reaccelerates to the cruise control’s set speed if there’s no object detected ahead of the truck.
Lane Keep Assist applies steering torque to help the truck stay within its lane.
