Goodyear’s new Fuel Max LHD 2 tire, to be launched early in 2021, is targeting longhaul fleets that want to boost fuel efficiency.
The drive tire is made with a “fuel-focused” tread compound that lowers rolling resistance to meet Phase 2 Greenhouse Gas emissions and fuel-efficiency standards, and is verified by SmartWay.
The tire’s TredLock technology includes double-corrugated blades to promote even wear and maintain traction over time, earning a Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake designation.
A premium enhanced casing also supports retreading, the company notes.
The Fuel Max LHD 2 is expected to be available early in the year as a 295/75R22.5 (Load Range G), while a 11R22.5 (Load Range G) will follow.
