Ontario’s new modelling for COVID-19 shows that at 3.5 per cent growth, the province could top 2,000 new cases daily and at 5 per cent growth the province could top 6,000 new infections daily by December.
That would be four times today’s record level of 1,575 new COVID-19 cases.
The modelling released this afternoon reveals that hospitalizations have went up 61 per cent over the past three weeks. The modelling also warns that deaths in the long-term care sector are now increasing each week after having flat lined over the summer. In fact of the 196 long-term care residents deaths attributed to COVID-19 since Aug. 1, 71 have occurred over the last seven days.
