The 5th Annual Road Today Truck Show held at the new location Soccer Centre was a very successful and well received Show.
About 100 exhibitors from a variety of sectors of the trucking and transportation industry took part in the trade show, including companies focused on trucks (used and new), trailers, heavy-duty parts and accessories, servicing equipment and supplies, engines and power train components, fuels and fuel additives, media outlets and financial services.
The Job Fair to hire drivers and owner-operators was a huge success. The staff from MTO commercial vehicle enforcement was there to answer queries of truckers. The show featured many activities of interest for attendees’ young and old, including kids clown, live entertainment, rock wall, bouncy castle, rollover display, driving simulator, seminars, giveaways and lots more. Nearly 7000 enthusiasts came by to visit the Show during the weekend. The mood of exhibitors and visitors was upbeat.
The show was inaugurated by Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell and John Sanderson, Regional Councillor. Prominent dignitaries including Jim Karygiannis, Member Parliament for Scarborough Agincourt, Linda Jeffrey, Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and Vicky Dhillon, City Councillor also visited the Show.
Special Greetings and Congratulatory Messages were sent in by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Bal Gosal, Federal Minister of Sports, Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, Glen Murray, Ontario Minister of Transportation, David Bradley, CEO of Canadian Trucking Alliance.
The Road Today Trucking Excellence Awards were presented to Aman Thakral of ITS Transport (Owner Operator of the Year), Dr Peter Gibson of BramaleaSecondary School(Trucking Educationist of the Year) and Hans Janzen of Mississauga(Trucking Ambassador of the Year).
The Road Today Truck Show management is thankful for the continued patronage received from the trucking industry and community. We now look forward to the 6th year celebrations in May 2014.
